Last night, our hotel lost power to the bedrooms on the first floor. Our hotel typically is an old palace refitted as hotel when the owners back in the 1990s couldn’t pay the Italian inheritance tax. Il Sogno di Giulietta e Romeo Hotel Sogno di Giulietta e Romeo Was built sometime between 16th and 17th century with original construction from 8th century. Our room has extremely high ceilings with painted murals. Our room looks onto a square.

Overnight the RSPCA informed us that Squirrels post moturtum will now cost $550 or we wait till Jan 2026 for free one. We will pay, as we need closure for us and our dear Squirrel.
After breakfast at hotel, with buffet of cooked and European style breakfast we found our way over a temporary bridge to St Micheals church and magnificent walled Cemetery found in an island. The cemetery is dating back to late 1700s and is beautiful. The bridge is in place to celebrate the day of the dead. Lots of walking and sore fit.
We walked back over Rialto Bridge to our accommodation. Of course, along the way we had a coffee some pizza and ice cream all at different places. We also found a duck along the way for some dear friends. Realising it is our last full day in Venice, we stopped and purchased some souvenirs to take home. Cos got a Venetian tie and Melissa purchased a Venetian purse. By the time we reached our hotel, we were quite tired and sore from 20,000+ steps. Also, the power had returned to our bedroom, which means we can charge our phones and charges ready for our trip to Trieste.
For dinner we ate at Ostario al garaanghelo, a small restaurant not far from our hotel. Amazing food 3 courses for 20 Euro each. We tried a “correctto” coffee, wow - regular rocket fuel.
