Day 7 (Saturday 8th November) first stop Zadar

First port with our cruise ship is Zadar Croatia. A Beautiful day in the harbour. Filled with excitement as we haven’t been here before.

Port of Zadar from our balcony

Today we had breakfast delivered and eat it on our balcony. We have a shore excursion at 8:30sm. Our excursion is “mythical Zadar by Tuk Tuk. Apparently  the oldest settlement in Croatia. Looking forward to seeing the old town and sampling the local food.

Zadar is not far from Trieste, which explains why we didn’t feel any movement last night on the ship.

A bit cold this morning, especially on Tuk Tuk. Zadar still has city walls built by the Venetians. We visited the Church of St Donatus, Roman forum, the old town, and sea organ. We sampled some local coffee and a sweet bun while in the old town. Compared to the other places we have seen,  Zadar was pleasant.

The Sea organ (CroatianMorske orgulje) is an architectural sound art object located in ZadarCroatia and an experimental musical instrument, which plays music by way of sea waves and tubes located underneath a set of large marble steps.

We headed back to the ship just in time for lunch. After lunch, we played a game of minigolf on which Melissa won. Both of us made the leaderboard for today, which is amazing. Later we returned to the observation lounge to enjoy a couple of glasses of prosecco and talk to some fellow travelers from USA.
